    Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) has been set up by the Government of India to promote and develop export of Telecom Equipment and Services.TEPC as a Council plays a critical role in furtherance of Telecom export from India and assist Indian member companies in easy facilitation of their respective exports. The Council caters to the complete Telecom Ecosystem including Telecom Hardware Manufacturing, Telecom Service Provision, Telecom Software, and Consultancy. It thus represents the strength of Equipment Manufacturers, System Integrators, Service Providers and other stakeholders in the telecom domain.

    To make India a globally competitive telecom manufacturing & services hub for driving telecom export

    • The council undertakes several activities aimed at exports promotion such as Commissioning of Studies to find potential markets, holding of National/International Seminars and facilitating participation of exporters in various overseas exhibitions. 
    • The council also disseminates trade related data to its members. 
    • The council makes various recommendations to the Government for making necessary changes in various policies and procedures for promotion of Exports and Services.
    ROLES OF TEPC
    • Participates in international exhibitions being held abroad and invites overseas delegations to India to promote our exports and establish long term strategic alliances.
    • Participates in the Review Meetings as well as Task Force Meetings being organized by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry from time to time to chalk out strategies for promotion of exports of the items coming under the purview of the Council with presentations covering suggestions/views being received from its members.
    • Prepares and submit to the Ministry of Commerce & Industry Annual Action Plan for promotion of exports of the items coming under its purview, covering Budget Proposals for participation in various international exhibitions/Buyer Seller Meets/ being held abroad as well as in India for the benefit of its member-exporters.
    • Issues Recommendation letters addressed to various overseas Consulates/Embassies in India for issue of Visas for the member-exporters for attending Exhibitions/delegations as well as export/business promotion tours abroad.
    • To be an interface with the Industry and the Government of India to formulate Export-oriented Policies and also to help in creating a favorable environment to augment exports of the telecom items from India.
    • It is ‘contact point’ for sourcing information on issues like support to Government on project proposals covering Digital Connectivity, Line of Credit and other Development Infrastructure Project under Grants – In-Aid.
    • TEPC helps and promotes the exporters by making them aware of the government schemes and other benefits given by government.
    • TEPC collects the export -Import data from relevant government sources to compare the industry growth and suggest steps to improve balance of trade.
    • TEPC organizes trade delegation to relevant and potential countries for promoting the export of ICT equipment and services
    • TEPC also plays various roles at the policy level to promote and growth of ICT industry

    STRATEGIES OF TEPC
    • Provide financial grants to exporters through means of Market Access Initiative for participation in international fairs, publicity etc.
    • Arrange for participation of member exporters in important trade fairs, organising buyer-seller meet (BSM), business missions.
    • Meeting with senior officials of related departments like DOT, MEA, EXIM Bank, DIPP to discuss about prevailing issues and suggest suggestions in sake of betterment of telecom sector.
    • Dissemination of trade information like standards and specifications, Government policies, circulars etc. through publications and mails.
    • Conducting workshops, seminars on various policies.
    • Generation and dissemination of trade enquiries for facilitating International buyers to source Telecom products from Indian Telecom exporters.
    • Liaison with Government for strengthening infrastructure facilities in telecom export production centres, take efforts to improve industry.
    • Serve as a link between trade and Government to formulate appropriate policies to promote telecom export growth.
    • Take up member exporter’s problems related to export, manufacturing and compliance to Government policies to concerned authorities.

    • Being an autonomous and a democratic body, representatives from different member companies are always invited to head the TEPC on an annual basis.

    Documents Required For Membership
    • Copy of Importer – Exporter Code (IEC) Number issued by the office of DGFT (Please attach a self certified copy)
    •  Copy of the partnership deed/Trust deed/Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company.
    • List of Partners / Directors along with their residential addresses & contact numbers duly signed by the authorised signatory.
    •  If registration is required as a manufacturer exporter, a photocopy of the evidence indicating that applicant is manufacturer. (Copy of SSI registration certificate/SIA approval acknowledgement 100% EOU or EPZ board approved letter etc.).
